Gus earning a 5pt major at the Kentuckiana Cluster second day showing as a “big boy” at ~6 months old.

Gus is our temporary resident here from Ellen of AE’s ACDs out in Ohio. He is here for training and a little bit of showing and will be going home as soon as he’s finished. This puppy has never met a stranger and is never phased. He loves life and jumps.. we are working on loving jumps less ;) Gus fits in easily everywhere he goes and has that typical boy puppy goofball nature.

Herding so far…

There’s not much I can say about Gus at the moment as we haven’t truly started him. Gus will be starting on sheep when we get everything set up here. He’s had an exposure to cattle, he was very care free and not keyed in but also not at all fearful. I think when we start him on sheep and get things moving and exciting for him he’ll be a promising guy. He is more sensitive and will probably be more natural to lighter stock. When confronted head on by stock, his natural reaction is to give space. He is a “dive out” dog. This may change with time.
