Gus earning a 5pt major at the Kentuckiana Cluster second day showing as a “big boy” at ~6 months old.
Gus is our temporary resident here from Ellen of AE’s ACDs out in Ohio. He is here for training and a little bit of showing and will be going home as soon as he’s finished. This puppy has never met a stranger and is never phased. He loves life and jumps.. we are working on loving jumps less ;) Gus fits in easily everywhere he goes and has that typical boy puppy goofball nature.

Herding so far…
There’s not much I can say about Gus at the moment as we haven’t truly started him. Gus went to Hado Bar for some work on more dogged sheep than I have to offer on home. He was fairly intense but moved off my pressure really nicely. On his initial exposure on cattle at 6 months he was very care free and not keyed in but also not at all fearful. I took him back at a year and man, he really impressed me! Cautious but not fearful, very serious. He went for a bite at the haunches though in all the excitement. He is a very promisimg young dog! When confronted head on by stock, his natural reaction is to give space. We will need to work on distance and holding ground/pressure.
